Long before KIOR Couture had a name, it was a quiet little girl in Milwaukee, Wisconsin sketching designs in the margins of her notebooks, certain she would one day become a fashion designer.
In April 2019, after a season of reclaiming her own story, founder Amarra Batton turned that dream into KIOR Couture. She designed the logo, built the website, sourced every supplier herself, and launched with one mission: highlighting the star in the room.
KIOR began as a boutique, then grew into handmade custom fashion and couture collections, including custom pieces for celebrity clients, before expanding into ready-to-wear. Through every chapter, one piece stayed constant: the handbag. For Amarra, a bag has never been just an accessory. It’s the piece she never leaves home without, the one that carried her through every season of her life.
That’s why KIOR Couture is now a Black-owned handbag brand. Our signature Cloud Collection, the Pink Cloud, Lilac Cloud, and Cocoa Cloud Boston Bags, is crafted in structured vegan leather with champagne gold hardware for the woman who moves through her day with intention. From coffee runs to corporate meetings to nights out with her girls, it’s the bag that keeps up with every version of her.
Because every piece is a part of her story.
